Popquiz

For our first collaboration with commercial tv network VTM, we’re pulling out all the stops. Not only have we developed a new quiz format with exciting game rounds, but we’re also bringing Matthijs van Nieuwkerk to Belgium! This Dutch presenter has been an established name in the Netherlands for decades and is now making his first moves in the Belgian tv landscape.

Each week, two duos will battle each other. For certain rounds, they will get the help of a ‘BV’ (famous Flemish) for certain rounds. Nevertheless, in the crucial stages, they’ll have to prove themselves on their own. These duos can be father and daughter, colleagues, childhood friends,… The only thing that matters is that they have a complementary knowledge of music. They’ll need it!

The quiz is set up like a tournament: we’ll see fourteen duos in the group phase, four of them will go through to the semi-finals and finally we’ll have a big final between the best two teams.

Throughout the show, we get live musical support from our house band, Senne Guns and Laurens ‘Lokko’ Billiet. They’re not just a part of the decor, but they’ll be playing jingles, mash-ups and covers of songs in various game rounds too.
